Charles Oliveira Says Wants To Beat Islam Makhachev To Provoke UFC Legend Khabib Nurmagomedov To Come Out Of Retirement

Charles Oliveira Says Wants To Beat Islam Makhachev To Provoke UFC Legend Khabib Nurmagomedov To Come Out Of Retirement

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired unbeaten back in 2020. He has an impressive run of all wins, and no draws or losses. He is a fighter that got massively popular after the public noticed him. Also, he is a contender in the most viewed and most popular UFC fight in the history of the promotion.

Charles Oliveira on the other hand, just ‘lost’ his UFC lightweight title because he missed weight by 0.5lbs. However, he remains the people’s champion and the first contender to have a chance for the title. Charles is now eyeballing a fight against two possible opponents. The first is Conor McGregor and the second is Islam Makhachev.

Charles Oliveira Says He Wants To Beat Islam Makhachev, So He Can Provoke Khabib Nurmagomedov To Come Out Of Retirement

The fight against Conor would be a price match, and that is all there is behind it, but the Islam Makhachev bout has a higher ‘meaning’.

Makhachev is a tough fighter with a similar background as his coach Khabib. He is on a 10-fight winning streak and is looking to extend it. Having accomplished this he and his coach most certainly think that a title shot is now well deserved. “I’ll beat Islam Makhachev and then challenge Khabib to come back from retirement.” – Oliveira says.

To be honest, this is a fight that everybody would like to see. If he indeed manages to win over Makhachev, Khabib should really think it through and consider coming back, even for one fight.

Oliveira got stripped of his title at the UFC 274 but did not show any mercy to Gaethje, nor lesser will to win the fight. He went there and dominated during the whole fight. As a result, he extended his win streak to 11. “I will beat Islam Makhachev – the division’s problem is called Charles Oliveira.” – he says for AG Fight.

“It doesn’t matter what they say. If they really want it, I want it, too. Look, forget about Conor McGregor now, forget it. In Brazil, Charles Oliveira against Islam Makhachev. Is this the fight you want? So we will have it.”

The people’s champ informed the public that in order to accept a fight against Islam Makhachev, he will need to accept to come to Brazil to fight him. And since we cannot see a problem in this, now it is all in Dana White’s hands.

Charles seems to finally let go of the price fight against Conor McGregor he was eyeballing. Maybe, after Conor comes back and has something to offer and proves himself with lesser-rank fighters, he should consider facing a monster such as Charles Oliveira.
