Chris Curtis Blasts Jack Hermansson After Decision Loss

It’s safe to say UFC middleweight Chris Curtis was not happy with his time in the Octagon at UFC London. Stepping in to fill injured Darren Till’s shoes at the last minute, Curtis lost to Jack Hermansson via unanimous decision. He raised middle fingers to Hermansson in the Octagon as the fight ended, and took to Twitter afterward to continue blasting his opponent. “What a f**king waste of everyone’s time. Sorry London I tried. Should have preped for a track meet instead.

Frustrating night for sure. Couldn’t get going. Just felt flat. Nobody ever wants to be the guy to admit it but it looks like tonight I choked. Couldn’t make the adjustments and let myself get frustrated. Sucks guys. Feels bad. But no injuries, no damage. A lot to learn going forward. Wasn’t the fight I expected or wanted but from a technical standpoint he had the right game plan and I just wasn’t prepared or able to adjust. Frustrating to travel to the other side of the planet to fucking choke in your biggest moment.

But we knew this was a big risk going in. Sometimes you win big. And sometimes you are Goose and crash and burn horribly. Tonight was one of those nights. But the love and support from the Fans in London post fight has been great. Tonight I got to play the nail. Dems the breaks.”

Jack Hermansson displayed significant improvement since his last UFC outing, where he was dominated by Sean Strickland the entire fight. Hermansson outpaced and outstruck Curtis for the entire fight, leading exchanges and exploiting his reach advantage over “Action Man” for all three rounds. Hermansson, ahead on the scorecards, spent the closing moments of the fight evading a visibly frustrated Curtis.

By the third round, Curtis knew he had to finish Hermansson in order to get himself a win, and unable to cause any serious damage to his opponent, became increasingly frustrated. Hermansson, for his part, stuck to the game plan, and as the fight finished, called Curtis a “f***ing p*ssy” for failing to impose his own will on the fight and then complaining. Curtis proceeded to mock his opponent, flipping the double bird and running around the Octagon as officials closed in.

This marked the first loss of Chris Curtis’ UFC career, ending his eight-fight winning streak. Is Chris Curtis right to blast Jack Hermansson, or was he being a sore loser? Let us know what you think in the comments.
