Tomassao Ciampa never lost the NXT Championship. He was forced to give the title up due to a neck injury, which sidelined him for nearly a year. In that time, Adam Cole would claim the title as his own. Ever since Ciampa returned, he’s had one goal. He will finally get his chance to realize that goal at NXT Takeover Portland, when he finally faces Adam Cole in singles action. He previously took the fight to Adam Cole and the rest of Undisputed Era at NXT Takeover War Games, when alongside Keith Lee, Dominic Dijakovic, and Kevin Owens, they put the first crack in the armour of the nearly untouchable faction. The finish came when Ciampa hit Cole with an Air Raid Siren off the top of the cage through a table.
Tommaso Ciampa Signs The Contract With His Own Blood
Ciampa was announced as the man who would face Adam Cole, but as Cole would make his way out to the ring to sign the contract, he found the rest of Undisputed Era incapacitated. He’d immediately blame Ciampa, and rush to the ring. Ciampa would be busted open in the ensuing brawl, but he would powerbomb Adam Cole through a table, and Ciampa would use his own blood to sign the contract. Many fans have forgotten Ciampa is the psycho killer, but he reminded everyone. This is a crazed man who will destroy himself to win the championship, and no one was ever able to take it from him.
Adam Cole Is On His Way To Being The Greatest NXT Champion Ever
As far as it goes for faces of NXT, it is hard to deny that has been Adam Cole lately. He’s been a fantastic NXT Champion since winning it from Johnny Gargano, having defended against all comers from Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Johnny Gargano, Akira Tozawa, Finn Balor & Pete Dunne. Despite his impressive record, he has never faced anyone quite like Ciampa. Ciampa is a man who will do anything to achieve his goals. He is not above bending the rules or getting extreme. He is Coles equal in this regard. The only advantage Adam Cole has is that he has Undisputed Era to back him up, but they have made many enemies and Ciampa will have no issue finding people to even the odds.
