NJPW G1 Climax 2022 A-Block Results: Kazuchika Okada [6] Submits Bad Luck Fale [4] With Money Clip (07/31)

Kazuchika Okada is projected to have a nearly clean sweep of the A-Block, but tonight he’s got a big problem in Bad Luck Fale. Fale is a man who has beaten Okada in the past, and is a known spoiler when it comes to tournaments like the G1 Climax. Tonight, Okada will need to be on the top of his game, and might need to ignore moves like the Landslide & The Money Clip, and set up the Rainmaker instead. Fale simply just needs to do what he does best, and that’s throw his weight around.

Kazuchika Okada Gets No Days Off In The G1 Climax

Historically in the G1 Climax, usually Fale is the one who defeats Okada – something The Rainmaker knows very well. Even with Fale less mobile in 2022, and perhaps in his final G1 – he remains a big threat. Okada would rush in with a forearm smash, before trying some shoulder tackles.

Fale would take a dropkick to the knee, Okada trying to break Fale down – before being launched with the back body drop and sent to the floor. Back into the ring, Fale would apply the bear hug – wearing down Okada a bit. Okada would throw some forearm blows, and Fale would respond with the punches to the body and dropped Okada with another forearm smash.

Fale would rush Okada in the corner, but would miss and get planted with the DDT in the middle of the ring. Okada would hit the basement dropkick to keep the pressure on, before making the poor move and looking for the bodyslam. A back elbow smash sending Fale off the rope for some extra momentum however, and Okada would get the body slam.

Bad Luck Fale Taps Out

Money Clip would be applied to Fale, but would be broken with ease. This one would go to the floor, and Okada was driven into the barricade before having to wiggle free of the Bad Luck Fall. Okada would hit the DDT on the floor – before being able to get the Air Raid Crash neckbreaker in the ring.

Okada would come off the top tope with the elbow drop, before striking the Rainmaker Pose – and getting nailed with the Samoan Drop. Fale would nail the spear, but failed to cover the shoulders allowing for an easy kick out. An elbow drop would be harder for Okada to kick out from, but still possible.

The Grenade would be blocked, before Okada hit the dropkick – but Rainmaker would be blocked. Grenade would land, but Okada was able to kick out just before three. Bad Luck Fall would be the end, but Okada slipped free and set up the Money Clip for the submission victory.
