Elon Musk Was Drug Tested By The Federal Government After Smoking Weed With Joe Rogan-‘It Was Pretty Nutty Actually’
This claim is in relation to when the Tesla CEO happened to be smoking weed with Joe Rogan. In the clip here, we can see the pair smoking a joint.
Elon looks a little disorientated, but it is not clear if he is playing up to Joe, as he holds a drink in his hand. So when Elon was looking back at the incident, he did have a lot to say about it.
In his comments, he said: “I did get a lot of backlash, cos it is still like federally illegal. So it was pretty nutty actually.
“I had to have like random drug tests and stuff after that to prove that I am not like a drug addict.”
The reaction may have seemed a little overboard, but given that Elon’s company SpaceX had contracts with the Federal Government, they had to make sure that Elon was not hooked on anything.
He expanded on how his competitors were putting pressure too, which added to the whole situation. His following comments confirmed as much: “Space X competitors were like… ‘hey why are you not doing anything?”
Nevertheless, Elon did suffer some consequences in other areas. According to reports, the price of Tesla stock had dropped once it emerged that Musk had been smoking weed with Joe. According to one such report, the stock fell as much as nine percent.
The fans on social media had a more laid-back approach towards it all. A certain subset of people were of the view that things had been exaggerated.
One person wrote: “Why does it even matter? He owns the companies, he’s not making any of that shit himself,” while another person stated: “Horses**t. M*sk is lying.
“Merely having a contract with the govt doesn’t mean they waltz into your house and demand drug tests. Not how it works.”
