This week’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé sees Kobe Blaise experiencing all the feelings on his wedding day to Emily Bieberly. In a sneak peek at Sunday’s episode, Kobe spends a brief bit of last-minute bonding time with his soon-to-be father-in-law, David Bieberly, just before he and Emily exchange vows. Because Kobe is holding a significant secret from the bride’s family, the severity of the situation pulls both men to tears.
In a private interview, David admits, “It kinda hit me this morning that Emily is getting married, so it’s a big deal, because I had a lot of serious doubts before Kobe came to America, But he sent me a letter telling me how much he loved Emily and that he wanted my permission to marry her, and I wrote him a letter back saying it’s important for him now to step up to the plate and take care of things.”

David gives Kobe a gift and makes mention of their correspondence as they conclude the ceremony. Kobe expresses his gratitude to David for the gift with tears in their eyes. During a subsequent interview, David reveals that he “gave Kobe something personal that I wanted him to have that would remind him of what my letter said to him. It’s a really beautiful thing,” Kobe is informed by David that the gift is intended to be known only by the two of them. David seems relieved after the embrace, but Kobe still cries occasionally, causing his future father-in-law to console him.
In a confessional, Kobe explains that one reason he’s crying is that he respects Emily’s father so much and that keeping the pregnancy a secret from him “really hurts” He adds, “I feel like he trusts me so much. It’s going to be like I failed him, and I am afraid that I might ruin everything. But I just can’t take this anymore.” Kobe then breaks down on the wedding day, telling David in their chamber, “I can’t do this.”
We recall that Emily’s parents had agreed to let the couple and their son Koben stay at their home on the condition that the fiancés do not have another child before they found and relocated to a new home, so the news that Kobe and Emily are expecting a second child is particularly problematic. In a discussion on how to tell her parents the news, Emily acknowledged, “It’s not the right timing.
We’re still figuring out our relationship, our parenting skills together, we’re at my parents’ house and it’s the one thing they told us not to do, was have another kid in their house.” Kobe, on the other hand, is worried and says “Her family is just going to see some Cameroonian guy who is just interested in having kids without even securing a bright future for the children and stuff like that.” Emily hoped Kobe would be a little more excited about being a father again despite what his in-laws thought.
She expressed her feelings in a confessional after he claimed it’s “heavy” to process the news of a second child. In that episode, Emily remarked, “I thought he would be a little bit more excited because he wants kids, And I get it, clearly not a good time, but I can tell by his tone of voice that he wasn’t happy about it. Honestly, that kind of hurts my feelings because it takes two to tango and obviously I didn’t make a baby by myself.”
