Since he resigned from the WWE citing creative differences with Vince McMahon, Road Dogg joined the list of pro wrestlers having a podcast by starting his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast.
He’s discussed various topics since stepping into the podcast world, and on a recent episode he talked about being at Impact Wrestling Emergence on August 12.
He didn’t say he has a role with the company, but he will be sitting with the company’s crew during the Emergence pay-per-view and the TV tapings the next night.
Joining the crew
“I’ve got some future events I’m looking forward to. I’m going to fly to Chicago in a couple of weeks and just sit with the Impact crew as they do their pay-per-view and their television taping and then the next week I think in Chicago, the top guy weekend for Ads Free. So, I’m looking forward to some upcoming events.”
Road Dogg spent some time with the company when it was TNA from his debut on September 18, 2002 as B.G. James until he left in 2009 after he was released from his contract on September 19.
During his time there he won two tag team championships with Konnan and Ron Killings. He was also one of the founding members of Vince Russo’s Sports Entertainment Xtreme faction after he signed with the company.
AEW bound?
While there’s a chance he could join Impact Wrestling as a producer, it may be a temporary job as he also recently claimed on Busted Open radio that he’s been begging Tony Kahn for a job in AEW.
He was asked if he thought his chances of going there improved after being a producer for Ric Flair’s Last Match, and he responded by saying he’s changing his method and stated he doesn’t want a job there.
He added that he would like to work there because he feels he can help improve their show better for the fans.
But he’s having fun with his podcast, interviews, and conventions and signings, plus he gets to spend time with his family.
There’s always the chance he could return to the WWE now that Triple H is running creative there, but he sounds content doing what he’s doing and his goals are elsewhere.
There’s no denying he’ll bring a wealth of knowledge and experience wherever he goes and will help out their product, but if that’s not in the cards it’ll be great to continue hearing his wrestling stories and thoughts.
