WWE Monday Night Raw rages on with a six-man tag team elimination match! Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you the live recap and results from the show as they come! Kevin Owens and the Viking Raiders, Erik and Ivar team up to face off with Buddy Murphy, Akam and Rezar of the AOP! Seth Rollins’ boys in action!
Kevin Owens & The Viking Raiders vs. Buddy Murphy & AOP
Babyfaces take the quick control to start, we get our combo of a bodyslam and then body slamming each other onto the opponent right before the commercial break! We come back to see Rezar face off with Ivar. They brawl in the middle of the ring! Ivar thrown to the ropes, rolls over the back of Rezar to get a big shot in, tag to Erik! But a shoulder block lays him out. AOP stomp him down, Erik being isolated now, Buddy Murphy tags in to get some shots in. Charges but Erik with a back elbow, wants the tag but a waistlock stops him. Buddy pulls him back, gets his combo of shots but the big pump knee is ducked, Inverted Hip Toss into a knee to the face, tag to Ivar!
Side Slam to Akam! Rezar runs in to get a ton of chops and forearms, Seated Senton out of the corner! Avoids a shot from Murphy with a Cartwheel, Lariato flips Murphy onto his face! Ovation as Erik tags in! Viking Raiders with the Springboard Clothesline/German Suplex combo but AOP break up the pin! Ivar with a suicide dive onto one member of AOP, Erik with one for the other! Ivar wants a crossbody but it’s evaded and he crashes into the LED board, they do the funny little gimmick where it glitches out. Rollins with the Stomp on Erik on the other side of the ring, rolls him inside, Murphy pins him. Erik has been eliminated.
Owens is trying to help Ivar up, his shoulder is bothering him now, selling like it’s been dislocated.
Looks like Owens will be all by his lonesome as we go to commercial break, crowd trying to will him on by chanting his name. We come back to see Murphy struggling to his corner for a tag, he makes it. Owens slugs it out with Akam but eats a back elbow, cover for 2. Buddy back in for a chinlock, Owens fights up but he just deposits him from the ring. Pursues, but a Fallaway Slam from Owens slams Buddy into the barricade! Owens being isolated by AOP now. “Let’s Go Kevin”, Owens with a boot off a back body drop attempt, enziguri! But this lets them tag out, AOP with a Side Slam/Stomp for a nearfall!
Kevin Owens slugs his way up but a knee to the gut stops him. Isolation and gang attacks continues. Owens surprises Murphy witha kick to the hamstring, spikes him with a brutal DDT! But before he can cover there’s another tag, Akam pounds him with forearms. Buddy tags right back in for a driving knee to the back. Owens fights out of the corner, evades Murphy in the corner, shot to Murphy’s face with a forearm, senton off the apron to Akam! Sends Rezar into the steps! Murphy dives, right into a Superkick! Throws him into the ring, up top – Senton but Murphy gets the knees up! Dang man, surely thought that’d be an eliminated. But Murphy up top, Owens clips him, he rolls through, charges – Pop-Up Powerbomb for the pin! Buddy Murphy has been eliminated. Cool sequence!
Akam into the ring to pound on Owens… but Kevin surprises him with a flash Stunner! Akam has been eliminated! Rollins now slapping Rezar, sends him inside, he charges… Owens evades him and he posts himself! Superkick! And then another! Owens in the corner, charges, big Cannonball! Kevin up top again! Nails the Top Rope Senton – but it’s a nearfall! Man that woulda been perfect. “KO” chant as the crowd is into it! Owens wants to lift Rezar but it’s a struggle… no but he gets him onto his shoulders Rollins on the apron for a distraction though, Rezar escapes, big clothesline lays him out. Throws him to the ropes, One Handed Spinebuster! Whips him again for a second one, cover and that is that.
Winners: Buddy Murphy & AOP
Kinda seems like Owens coulda just won there and been a big time face but hey, good stuff all the same.
Afterwards, Owens slowly rises as the crowd gives him a standing ovation for this efforts. This is the best Raw crowd in a long time.
