Bron Breakker might have finally found someone who can truly break him down in the ring. JD McDonagh is unlike anyone he’s faced in his career, an absolute sadist who accepts Breakker is powerful – but knows just where to attack his body to beat him. Tonight, he’s keen on claiming that NXT Championship for himself – and might well be better equipped to beat Breakker than anyone before him.

JD McDonagh Is Playing For Keeps

For the first time in a while, Bron Breakker didn’t have his shoulder taped up – and could be 100% tonight. McDonagh would have his wrist grabbed to kick this match off, and Breakker would show his mat wrestling skills as he maintained the control. Breakker would be sent off, but would roll McDonagh off the mat and right into a suplex.

McDonagh would be lifted into a wrist lock, before being thrown with a Belly to Belly Suplex. A standing moonsault would get the two count, and Breakker was dominant to begin. He’d take this one to the floor – which would be a mistake. McDonagh would use the ring post on the shoulder of Breakker, and was able to gain complete control of the mat.

A snap suplex in the ring would get the two count, before Breakker was crotched on the top rope. The neckbreaker using the turnbuckle truss would cause some serious damage, and the champion was quickly in trouble. An armbar in the ring would almost end this, but Breakker lunged to the ropes.

    Never Count Out Bron Breakker

Breakker would be able to hit the ropes for two big shoulder tackles, before catching McDonagh with the snap powerslam. The Spear would be blocked, with McDonagh sending Breakker into the ring post. Crossface would be applied, but Breakker again found the bottom rope.

Frankensteiner would land, but McDonagh would kick out. Spanish Fly and Vertical Drop Brainbuster would get McDonagh close, but Breakker kicked out. The moonsault was avoided, but a Spear would send McDonagh out to the floor.

Breakker pulled him into the ring – and would hit the powerslam for the win. After the bell, the NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate made a shocking appearance, and stepped right up to Breakker – and we could be on the way to a title unification match.

Can Tyler Bate overcome Bron Breakker? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
