WWE Speculation: Who Next To Face Goldberg?

It was announced on Monday Night RAW that Goldberg will be appearing on Smackdown this Friday. He is not someone who shows up without purpose. With Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia coming up, it’s clear he will be in action at the event. He has previously had a critically panned match with Undertaker in Saudi Arabia, a match he hasn’t redeemes yet. This could he his chance to do so, and that asks an age old question of simply… Who’s Next?

    King Corbin

Having come out on the losing end of his months long feud with Roman Reigns, King Corbin is in need of an opponent to try and bring himself back to the level that a king belongs at. Defeating the nearly undefeatable Goldberg would do exactly that, making him an easy choice to interrupt Goldberg on Friday. Corbin being a loudmouth also doesn’t hurt his odds of laying down a challenge for Super Showdown.

A perk of Corbin getting this role is that he is proven to be a very safe worker. He was able to work with Kurt Angle in his final match, and made a nearly immobile Angle look like he turned back the clocks. He also comes with goons for Goldberg to attack during the match, with one being Dolph Ziggler who is no stranger to being abused at the hands of the legend.

It wouldn’t be the most exciting encounter for Goldberg, but is a safe choice and could provide a solid match if the right story is told.

    Roman Reigns

Wrestlemania season has begun, and frankly Roman Reigns isn’t looking like the main event talent he usually is this time of year. While last year he took a backseat, and faced Drew McIntyre at the event, he is rumored to be in the Universal Championship match with The Fiend this year. While he was the victor in his feud with King Corbin, it will take more than that to prove he is still world champion material. Defeating Goldberg could do exactly that for him.

The ‘Battle of the Spears’ is a story that practically tells itself. Both men use the move to amazing effect, with Romans being a match ender and Goldbergs being the lead into his Jackhammer. Roman has quietly been one of the best workers in the company, so he would be able to work wonders with Goldberg in crafting a heavyweight bout to excite fans.

Who would you want to face Goldberg at Super Showdown? Let us know in the comments down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
