While NXT gets the most attention for their stacked women’s division, NXT UK is no slouch in this regard either. It has been dominated by a feud between Women’s Champion Kay Lee Rae and Toni Storm for the last few months, which is going to be coming to a head very soon. On this weeks episode of NXT UK, the challenge was laid down for an I Quit Match.
Kay Lee Rae Needs To Get This Win
Despite being one of the best wrestlers in the company, Kay Lee Rae is not someone who gets enough love in WWE. She has yet to have that one big singles match to get people talking. Her best performance so far was as part of the first ever women’s War Games match, where she got a lot of time to shine. Aside from that, it is hard to think of many notable matches of hers. She was even placed on the preshow at Worlds Collide where she beat Mia Yim in a great little match. They need this match to be a large spectacle, as that would really help get more eyes on one of the best weekly shows in WWE.
What Happens If Toni Storm Loses?
Toni Storm has become less and less of a factor in the division as time has went on, and many are looking forward to her finally just going to NXT full time. Should she lose this match to Kay Lee Rae, it would stand to reason that it would lead to her finally leaving NXT UK.The division is stacked on NXT, but with rumors of Bianca Belair moving to RAW after Wrestlemania, it would open up a slot for someone like Toni Storm who would fit in perfectly.
Should she win this match, she will be the first ever two time NXT Women’s Champion, and we could see Kay Lee Rae move to NXT instead, where she would likely be pretty quickly placed against Rhea Ripley. I don’t know how well another Toni Storm reign would go over with fans of NXT UK as interest is fairly low in her, but there is always fresh matchups for anyone as WWE signs more and more talent.
