The famous actor Mark Wahlberg expresses his willingness to collaborate with the most famous UFC fighter Conor McGregor in a movie as soon as he found out that he is getting into the acting business. Recently, Conor McGregor revealed that he will try his luck at acting by taking part in Amazon Prime’s remake of the 1980s movie Road House.
The Notorious McGregor will join the team of actors on the set, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, and Travis Van Winkle.
Mark Wahlberg Interested In Starring In A Movie Together With Conor McGregor
This is not the first time that Conor got an invitation to be in a movie. Back in 2017, rumors emerged that he received an offer to star in Guy Ritchie’s ‘King Arthur’ movie. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to accept the role since he was preparing for a fight.
The ‘Pardon My Take’ podcast hosted Mark Wahlberg on a recent episode where he spoke about acting, sports, and future plans. During the two-hour conversation, the question about starring in a movie together with McGregor was brought up.
“In the right movie, absolutely.” – Wahlberg acknowledged that he would be willing to appear in a movie alongside the Notorious. The 51-year-old actor also showed interest in having Conor McGregor in one of the movies he directs.
“I gotta get Conor to be in a movie.” – Wahlberg said.
It is not like this is the first time that Mark thinks about ‘hiring’ McGregor. He recognized talent in McGregor back in 2015. He realized that he has a ‘face for TV’ ever since he laid eyes on him.
While on the podcast, Mark made another revelation regarding his aspirations and future plans. He says that he would be interested to see how he would perform in the boxing ring. Mark has always been a fan of combat sports. He always enjoyed playing ‘badass’ characters with a fighting set of skills on the screen.
Yet, it is highly unlikely that we would see him enter the boxing ring since his ‘PR’ would not let him. His PR on the matter is his son, who is afraid to let him step into the ring.
“My son comes up to me and goes, ‘Dad, don’t you dare! Don’t you even think about it!'” – Mark confessed.
Meanwhile, seems like we would be lucky to see the Notorious Conor McGregor get back at what he is best at – MMA. He had a more than year-long pause from the sport. He took some time off after suffering a serious injury to his leg during the rematch against Dustin Poirier.
