Recently, we saw the latest Premium Live Event to come from the WWE NXT brand with World Collide. While much of the focus was on three NXT vs. NXT UK bouts to crown Undisputed Champions – the show opened with the NXT return of former North American Champion Ricochet. He would look to take that belt from Carmelo Hayes, and would ultimately fall to the rising star. After sharing the ring with Hayes – Ricochet knows just how good Hayes is – and isn’t scared to sing his praises now.
Ricochet Sees No Reason Why Carmelo Hayes Shouldn’t Already Be On The Main Roster
While speaking on NBC Sport’s Boston “The Ten Count” podcast, current WWE Smackdown Live superstar Ricochet would say that Carmelo Hayes should be on the WWE main roster – not in NXT. Ricochet would be quoted as saying the following.
“Raw, Smackdown, everywhere he goes, he’s going to show out and show why he belongs there, so I don’t see why not. If Solo’s wandering around here doing anything, I don’t see why ‘Melo can’t be doing the same thing.”
Solo is referring to Solo Sikoa, who made his main roster debut when he aligned with The Bloodline at Clash At The Castle. Sikoa would return to NXT on the latest episode to defeat Carmelo Hayes and take the NXT North American Championship to Smackdown Live, where he’s since defeated Madcap Moss in a title defense.
Hayes Is Directionless Without His Title
Following his loss to Solo Sikoa, Hayes would post a cryptic photo of him seemingly bidding farewell to the fans of NXT. Despite this, he was around for the recent tapings – where alongside manager Trick Williams, they dropped a match to Chase U members Andre Chase & Bodhi Hayward.
It feels like a waste to not have a Carmelo Hayes vs. Bron Breakker feud in WWE NXT, but with the NXT brand potentially changing once again – Hayes & Breakker might soon find themselves both on the main roster.
