We at CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers love gossip, especially when it’s nice and juicy and involves some of our favorite characters. One thing we do know is things are going to be rocking and rolling in Genua City this week.
Phyllis Just Can’t Avoid Trouble
There’s always a couple of characters that are dumber than a pound of bricks, and then there are those that think they’re smarter than they are. Unfortunately for her, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) fits into the latter category.

For most, there’s a time to ask questions, and there’s a time to forget what we hear. Phyllis just doesn’t seem to understand the second part of that as she’s been formulating what to do with the information until Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) return from Vegas.
And since there’re back in time for the Newman Gala where nothing ever goes smoothly at a Newman family gathering, what could go wrong?
As interesting as it’ll be to see Phyllis mismanage this and have to dig her own grave in the Newman’s backyard (Away from where the kids play, of course), it’s something we can’t and don’t want to look away from. It’s like a slow motion car wreck.
Getting back to the topic at hand, Phyllis will antagonize Adam by dropping hints that she knows something about Vegas. She’ll be vague enough to make him think she’s just trying to stir something up, which she is, and leave her be.
As if filling her tank with bitcholine, she’ll keep after him for a little bit, drawing enjoyment from the endeavor until her true quarry appears.
While many of us assumed she’d use what she learned to blackmail Chance into being with her or doing something so he’d owe her a favor, she instead targets Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan). Pulling Chelsea aside, she offers her a deal. Chelsea refuses, saying she’s not interested.
Perhaps irritated at being tossed aside, Phyllis reportedly tells her she should be is she doesn’t want Adam to go to prison. This would be a good time for us at CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers to point out once again how bad an idea we think this is, for the record.
We have to have that one character that pushes too far, that thinks they’re smarter and more dangerous then those they’re going after. In this case, she may be able to control Adam as he’s more interested in paying a problem to go away.
But Chance?
Safe money says this will bring out a different side of him we haven’t seen yet. Assuming, of course, that he finds out about what Phyllis is doing.
We could be completely wrong and Adam or Chelsea may be the ones to do something. Either way, this is shaping up to be a fun storyline over the next week and beyond.
Lola has her say
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) are finally settling into their new relationship when they decide to eat at a certain restaurant. It seems a safe bet since thy believe Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) is still in Miami.
But then Lola walks in and both of them are left scrambling for something to say.
Just watching them struggle to apologize will be reward enough for having to put up with a pair of sappy teenage-wannabe lovebirds.
So much for avoiding that drama.
They’re about to leave, but Lola tells them to stay, that she wants to clear the air.
Kyle is a little anxious, but Lola tells them she’s has no intention of being vindictive. She knows it was always meant to be Kyle and Summer together, and that Kyle didn’t mean to hurt her. In short, she’s being the grown up and forgiving the idiot children.
Some reports say Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) is there as well, so that’ll only make things interesting going forward. Wonder how strong Kyle’s conviction to Summer will remain if he spots Theo and Lola locking lips. One can hope, anyway.
