The sad news about Coolio’s passing away has already traveled the world. The rapper was found dead on a bathroom floor in his friend’s apartment.
The 59-year-old rapper was staying over at his friend’s for a couple of days but unfortunately did not live to get out of the apartment on Friday, as planned.

A paramedic team found Coolio dead on the bathroom floor, at around 4 pm on Wednesday. The paramedic team suspect that he had suffered a heart attack. There is still no official doctor’s statement on what exactly caused this heart attack.
The police report that no drugs or any other paraphernalia are found on the scene. To some level, this eliminates the option that he suffered a heart attack due to an overdose. However, the team will perform an autopsy and toxicology that will determine an official cause of death.
Coolio divorced from his ex-wife Josefa Salinas, with whom he shares four children. They married in 1996 and divorced in 2000. Despite not marrying afterward, the rapper has more than 10 children with multiple women.
Coolio was an active person. Recently he performed on stage at the Riot Fest 2022 in Chicago. Four days before his death, on Instagram, he shared a story of him performing in Texas.
Coolio was someone who did not shy away or avoid interaction with his fans. Back in April, he looked healthy and in a positive spirit when he took photos with some fans at the Sydney airport.
The rapper’s greatest hit is ‘Gangsta paradise’ which was on the soundtrack for Michelle Pfeiffer’s movie, Dangerous Minds. The actress shared a video of his masterpiece Gangsta Paradise and paid a tribute to the late rapper.
“Heartbroken to hear of the passing of the gifted artist Coolio. A life cut entirely too short.” – Michelle Pfeiffer wrote below the shared video. “As some of you may know I was lucky enough to work with him on Dangerous Minds in 1995. He won a Grammy for his brilliant song on the soundtrack – which I think was the reason our film saw so much success. I remember him being nothing but gracious. 30 years later I still get chills when I hear the song. Sending love and light to his family. Rest in Power, Artis Leon Ivey Jr.”
Coolio wrote his hit piece for the movie and received a Grammy award for Best Rap Solo Performance. He also received two MTV Awards for Best Rap Video, and Best Movie Video.
