It’s been a while since we’ve seen Robert Roode in a WWE ring, and he’s been missed by fans that have followed him to the WWE from his days in TNA (Impact Wrestling).
Many have wondered what happened to him, and he answered those questions by posting on his Instagram about going in for a procedure.
Robert Roode’s Been Out with an Injury
“Heading home after what is hoped to be a successful trip to Birmingham AL. Big thank you to @southlakeortho and @andrews_sports_medicine for taking great care of me this week.
“Especially to the first class medical staff of Dr Micheal Ellerbusch , Dr Andrew Cordover and Dr Charles Carnel.”
While he kept the details of the procedure to himself, it’s apparent we may not see him back in the ring for a bit yet, but it’s worth noting it could’ve been minor, like cleaning out some scar tissue or something like that.
Either way, we’re glad it was a success and he’s on the mend.

Should we expect a push when he returns?
Prior to him leaving WWE TV, Roode had a decent push as part of the heel tag team Dirty Dawgs with Dolph Ziggler and his last match was a house show against Omos on June 25.
Since he came to the WWE, Roode toiled in the mid card area with a couple of pushes here and there, but none as big as when he was teaming with Ziggler.
With Triple H taking over WWE Creative following Vince McMahon’s retirement, fans hoped to see him featured more and possibly get into the championship picture.
Any hope for that is on the backburner at the moment, but don’t think it’ll take long for him to get a good push when he comes back.
Hunter’s different approach
One thing we’re looking forward to seeing is whether Roode will be a face and rejoin Ziggler or will he go it alone.
Either way it should be a fun run, especially if he or both of them get a serious push instead of being used to only put younger talent over.
While Vince used the older stars to put over the younger, Triple H is more inclined to put the best performers in position to give fans the best show they can while also building up younger talent.
It can be a tricky line to walk, but so far Triple H has been doing a pretty good job of balancing everything and since he looks at it as a fan things should be all right in the end.
