During NXT Takeover Portland, WWE announced the next major event for the NXT UK Brand. They are finally going to Ireland, for NXT UK Takeover Dublin. As soon as this was announced, fans started to theory craft matches with major Irish stars that could happen at the event. Between Jordan Devlin vs. WALTER & Sheamus showing up for an open challenge, there are many fun options around. One that no one considered until the champ herself brought it up is Kay Lee Ray vs. Becky Lynch.

Kay Lee Ray Is Busy With Toni Storm
Kay Lee Ray has a challenger on her radar before she can consider facing Becky Lynch, and this is Toni Storm. They longtime rivals will clash soon in the first I Quit match in their women’s division history, with the loser leaving the brand for good, and winner being the NXT UK Women’s Champion. While she has had Toni’s number in the past, she can’t get cocky and look past a very tough challenger.
Becky Lynch Could Lose The RAW Women’s Championship At Wrestlemania
The Man herself has held the RAW Women’s Championship since last years Wrestlemania, beating challenger after challenger to become the best champion in the belts history. Despite this, with the vicious Shayna Baszler breathing down her neck, it will be hard to keep that going much longer. It would be a fitting end to her reign, and she could use some time out of the spotlight afterwards.
Fan backlash has begun for Lynch, with her act starting to lose steam. Taking a trip over to the UK to face some of their bright stars would be an ideal way to rehab Lynch’s image. Returning to her roots could help humble her, and allow her to regain the RAW Women’s Championship that her brash attitude might cost her.
This hypothetical match between Becky Lynch and Kay Lee Ray would be one of the biggest in NXT UK history, and would certainly drive attention to NXT UK Takeover Dublin. The quality of the match would be second to none, with Lynch and Ray being two of the best performers in the company.
