Christine, the ex-third wife, has previously divorced. Kody has been throwing hints about his family for several years now, alluding to the fact that he desired for them to improve and work together as a unified front. Aside from the comments he made recently about patriarchy, he has also stated in the series that he feels “bitterness” toward his wives because they won’t allow him to be the head of the household.

The charge made by Kody that he gives his wife excessive leeway in matters of autonomy infuriated viewers of the show Sister Wives. Now that the other was leaving, he needed to reclaim his leadership position.
