Dennis Hogan, a super-welterweight IBO Champion is calling out Conor McGregor to be his opponent in his first title defense.
Conor McGregor is a professional MMA fighter with 28 fights under his belt. The UFC legend has a license as a pro boxer as well. Until now, he has only 1 boxing match under his belt. That’s the one he lost against Floyd Mayweather in 2017.

Even though a professional record of 0-1 is not something to brag about, the Notorious Conor McGregor is eyeballing a world title in the ring. What Dennis Hogan offers is not some prestigious title. However, it may just work well for Conor as if he gets it, it will serve as a recognition for his skills in the ring.
Dennis Hogan is a Kildare native and is fighting under the Ireland flag. He defeated and brutally dominated Sam Eggington past weekend. Given his success, now he asks for his next fight to be held in his home country – Ireland. While an IBO title may not attract so much attention, having Conor McGregor as an opponent, and on top of that arranging the fight in Ireland may boost the popularity of the match by much.
The boxer made the call out to Conor McGregor long before obtaining the belt. He called out the Notorious before his match against Gary O’Sullivan, another Irish boxer.
“If I win, the first thing I will do is get in touch with McGregor’s team. I’ll say ‘Is there any chance Conor may want this?’ I would love to go back to Ireland and have a title defense there. I am due a homecoming, I haven’t fought in Ireland since my amateur days. So it would be great to go back there and defend my title.” – Hogan told the pre-fight conference.
McGregor is not shy about his aspirations in the ring as well. In 2020, he said that he has a plan in the back of his head to obtain a world boxing title.
“I want to box again.” – Conor said. “I will box again and I will get a boxing world title. But I will box multiple times. I love boxing. I truly love boxing, and I’m damn good.”
Conor McGregor is taking some time off from MMA, as he strives to start swimming in the acting waters. He will be starring in Jake Gyllenhaal’s ‘Road House’. The cast of the movie is promising that it will be a movie that will attract much attention. In addition, Conor McGregor’s reach that he obtained over the years by headlining PPV events contributes to the popularity of the blockbuster.
