WWE Monday Night Raw continues following Aleister Black’s defeat of Erick Rowan. Bobby Lashley will be in action later but for now, Drew McIntyre is having a sit-down interview and he’s asked who he wishes to face at WrestleMania. Like practically everyone else in the history of wrestling, he says he doesn’t care who he faces, all that matters to him is that he’s headlining WrestleMania and has a chance at the WWE Championship. Goes back to his debut in 2009 where Vince McMahon brought him out as the Chosen One, the future of WWE, a future world champion. But he’s held zero world titles since. Eventually he lost his passion for the business and was in his own head too much.
Puts the blame on himself for his failures, and was fired, deservedly. He didn’t expect to be brought back. Says he was furious at himself, and took the chip off his shoulder. Knew he needed to get back to WWE, he’d be damned if he’d be remembered as that idiot playing air guitar. Coming back to NXT instead of Raw or SmackDown was exactly what he needed, puts Triple H over for backing him up. Mentions how when he did make his return to Raw, it was four years to the day of his being released. He was excited to see people remembered him.
Says for fifteen years, all he’s heard is potential, potential, potential. Can’t live off potential. Everyone always calls him the future, did just that when he was 21. Came back at 31 and was called the future yet again. He was becoming worried that he would one day be called the past, before he ever got the chance to be called the present. Finally he talks about coming into the Royal Rumble, Claymore kicking Brock Lesnar out of the ring en route to winning the whole thing.
And then out comes R-Truth for the Winter Premiere of TruthTV, in his own words.
They were trying to make a joke about how it’s now Spring and Truth is just being dumb but it actually is still Winter and will be for a while. So I dunno, maybe Vince just kinda, disagrees? Could see him just deciding that in his world it’s been Spring for weeks already. He announces Bobby Lashley and Lana as his first guests, calling them the biggest Power Couple in WWE going today. Truth asks Winnipeg what’s up, and then will tell us what’s up. He had questions prepared to ask them all weekend, but Lana cuts him off and says they aren’t here for his stupid talk show. She says that Truth has a scheduled match with her precious Bobby Lashley. “Rusev Day” chant, Lana again tries to say that Rusev Day is cancelled but this week it outright gets zero reaction, they just keep chanting.
Truth proceeds to say that Bobby Lashley is really, really, really big. He’d rather asks some questions versus having a match with him. Wants to know if Bobby’s seen the Sonic The Hedgehog movie. Lana yells, “Ring the bell!” and bails.
R-Truth vs. Bobby Lashley
Truth strips off his jacket but as he’s getting undressed, Lashley attacks him, stomps him into the corner, hits a Reverse STO. “Rusev Day” chant commences once more, Bobby tosses Truth from the ring. Truth slides back into the ring, blocks a punch and sends one back to Lashley. Hits the ropes, shoulder block, shoulder block, Protobomb! Five Knuckle Shuffle! Lashley escapes the Attitude Adjustment, runs right through him with a Spear and that is that!
Winner: Bobby Lashley
Cool.
