During Extreme Rules, Karrion Kross would get his first main roster PPV victory over Drew McIntyre in a brutal strap match. Interference from Scarlett was vital in Kross defeating the former WWE Champion – and that can’t be relied upon here tonight. That’s because tonight they meet in a solid steel cage – as their feud reaches a new level of danger. It’s hard enough sharing a ring with someone like McIntyre, but being trapped in a cage with him is bad for your health.
Drew McIntyre Overcomes The Numbers Advantage
McIntyre would kick things off with some heavy chops, before a backdrop. Kross came back with a chop to the throat, before both men climbed the cage – with Kross kicking the leg of McIntyre causing him to crotch himself on the top rope. Exploder Suplex would follow, before Kross would choke McIntyre with his boot.
A slingshot into the bottom rope kept McIntyre gasping for air – before he’d manage to hit a series of lariats. Kross was thrown into the cage, before taking a neckbreaker in the middle of the ring. Michinoku Driver would follow, with McIntyre able to get a two count in the middle of the ring.
Kross would be thrown off the top rope with a Belly to Belly Suplex, after thinking he had McIntyre out of the match in the Tree of Woe. McIntyre was caught with a flying knee strike for a two count, before the Kross Jacket was attempted. Kross would lose the hold but nailed the Doomsday Saito Suplex.
Future Shock DDT was to be followed by the Claymore, but McIntyre was distracted by Scarlett on the outside of the cage. Kross would nail the Kross Hammer, and would start the climb to try to leave the cage, but McIntyre got up in time to stop him. He’d be taken down from the top of the cage with a superplex.
Kross was put in the ankle lock, but was able to fight free thanks to Scarlett using pepper spray on McIntyre, only to take a headbutt and the claymore McIntyre would climb out of the cage, getting the victory.
The OC Stand Together
AJ Styles was a bit outgunned by The Judgment Day, so he called in some Good Brothers to back him up. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson are back in WWE, even with Anderson being the NEVER Openweight Champion in NJPW. Tonight, they step into a big trios match against The Judgement Day’s Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio and Damien Priest. It’s as big of a trios match as The OC has ever seen in WWE, and a chance for The Judgement Day to prove themselves.
Balor would start alongside Anderson, before the big men entered the match with Gallows & Priest throwing heavy blows. Styles tagged in after Gallows was overwhelmed, before Mysterio hit the ring to take a backbreaker. Anderson would hit the rocket boot to the face, as Mysterio would get isolated in the OC corner.
Styles hit a brainbuster on Mysterio for a two count, before Priest would get the tag and regain control of the match. A chokeslam on Anderson would get a two count, before he’d go into a surfboard stretch. Anderson would hit a jumping neckbreaker, but Balor got the tag before Anderson could make the tag.
Rhea Ripley Is The Wild Card Of The Judgement Day
Gallows would nearly get a tag, and Priest would respond by booting him in the face. A neckbreaker from Anderson landed, and Balor was sent out of the ring and into position to pull Styles away from a tag. A spinebuster landed on Priest, and Styles got the tag alongside Balor.
Styles tried for the Calf Crusher – only for Balor to block to try for the Figure Four. Gallows made the save and hit the Gallows Pole on Mysterio, before Balor hit the Final Cut on Styles for a two count. The OC would hit three suplexes in tandem, before Rhea Ripley would catch Styles with an Electric Chair Drop on the apron. Back in the ring, Balor nailed Coup De Grace – and this one was over.
It’s clear that without someone to take Ripley out of the mix, The Judgement Day is hard to defeat. How can The OC combat Ripley? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
