Recently, we saw the timeless R-Truth make his in-ring debut for WWE NXT. He was facing the rising star of Grayson Waller, who was previously tested by former WWE Champion AJ Styles. However, just a few minutes into the match – Truth would look for a dive over the top rope, and landed rough on his leg. The match would be stopped, with Truth helped to the back by NXT’s medical team.
R-Truth Suffers Torn Quad
Following this, reports would indicate that R-Truth suffered a torn quad. Truth has now confirmed this, having made a post to his Instagram to keep his fans in the loop. The average recovery time for a torn quad is about four months, but it can take up to six months for a complete heal.

Given the lower card status of Truth in 2022, it’s likely WWE will not be pushing for an immediate return – with a six month absence highly likely for Truth. While he’s not used as much on TV in recent years, Truth remains a fan favorite and fixture of WWE live events. Out of 34 matches in 2022, 21 of them took place away from TV – as Truth worked with Veer Mahan & Omos extensively.
A Time Loss Injury Is Incredibly Rare For Truth
During his 25 year career – Truth has never really suffered a major time loss injury, which is impressive to say the least, especially with Truth working 100+ matches a year during a stretch from 2009 to 2016. He shows no sign of slowing down, and is expected to make a full recovery.
Truth is a true legend of WWE, despite his perpetual mid-card status, being constantly entertaining without really needing to shuffle his act up. It’s likely that we see him inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in the next few years, but a WWE return to get revenge on Grayson Waller should be first on his agenda once healthy.
We here at TheOvertimer wish Truth a speedy recovery. What are some of your favorite R-Truth moments in his career? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
