Every week, there is another terrible IWC overreaction about something without seeing the end goal of the storyline. This week Theory lost the MITB briefcase while cashing in on Seth Rollin’s US Title. While I’ll admit, it does seem like a bad call but let’s think about why it isn’t that bad and where it might go.
Austin Theory Losing the MITB Briefcase
On this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, Theory tried to cash in his MITB briefcase against Seth Rollins and lost, despite having help from Bobby Lashley.
Even though to many, this seems like a waste of the briefcase, but unless Drew McIntyre or Seth Rollins won it, there is nobody that would beat Roman Reigns.
Theory won the MITB briefcase when Vince was still around and Vince probably would’ve found a way to have Theory win the WWE or Universal title without making Roman look bad.
I think that best case situation for him was cashing in to win the NXT title. This would’ve added a new dimension to the briefcase and been an easy way to get the title off of Bron Breaker without making him look weak.
Where This Might Go
Hear me out… there is a possibility that Theory might win the MITB briefcase again. Recently, HHH announced that he was doing away with the MITB branded PPV and they are going to have it at WrestleMania every year.
With this being the first one, HHH might want the focus of the briefcase to be on what he wants the focus to be on, not the agenda of what Vince wanted.
When things like this happen, fans usually start bashing the wrestler, saying that they aren’t good and that they don’t deserve that spot.
The truth is that Theory is just as good as any young wrestler in wrestling in any company in the ring, so let’s start with stopping doubting his skill.
As far as what I think might happen, I think that whoever Roman faces at WrestleMania will beat him. The rumors are possibly Sami but most likely Cody.
I think that whatever happens, Theory will win the next MITB and cash in after whoever beats Roman wins. This will get major heat on him, especially if its Cody or Sami, both of which the fans love.
