WWE Monday Night Raw begins with Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman coming out to open the show. Paul lets us know his name as he tends to. Lesnar is the reigning, defending, undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, in case you didn’t know. Says he’s sorry, he can’t do it. It’s his job, literally, to come out here tonight and hype you on WrestleMania. And although he’ll give credit where it’s due, almost top to bottom, it’s the most stacked WrestleMania lineup in decades – definitely a lie – he says the main event of WrestleMania is a sham. Big boos raining down. Says c’mon, you all know it, and they know it too. “They” want to sell you on Drew McIntyre… a big pop interrupts him. Paul says ladies and gentlemen, Drew McIntyre is a hyped up fraud.
Can’t recall Paul ever saying stuff like that about past opponents. Paul says, “Let’s analyze why you cheer for Drew McIntyre”. Talks about how Brock Lesnar ran through half the field at the Royal Rumble only to be hit by behind “in the testicles” by Ricochet, allowing McIntyre to hit Lesnar with a Claymore to send him over the top rope. Pops. Heyman calls them Pavlovian dogs for cheering this information.
Says they have no excuses for Drew kicking Lesnar over the top rope but how in the hell does it tell you that McIntyre can pin Lesnar at WrestleMania? He can’t! How does it tell you he can make Brock Lesnar tap out? He can’t! All it shows is that McIntyre can take advantage of a lucky situation. When they face off, it’s gonna be over like that. Says McIntyre is a big stupid bitch that’s gonna get squashed – stops to yell at people for booing him.
Drew McIntyre interrupts.
McIntyre enters the ring and comes eye to eye with Lesnar. There’s a very loud chant of “Drew”. Lesnar slowwwwly backs away with a smirk on his face. Makes like he’s gonna leave the ring, only to turn and charge – right into a Claymore Kick! Drew kips up as the crowd is on their feet! And his music hits, he stands tall over Brock Lesnar! Not a common feat, that one. As McIntyre makes his leave, Lesnar is still down. “You Deserve It” chant as he struggles to his feet. As he rolls to the outside, he gets a “Hey hey hey, goodbye”.
Lesnar looks quite upset as he slinks up the ramp, still in pain… and McIntyre rushes back out to shock him with a second Claymore! Huge pop! He hoists up the WWE Championship and tosses it aside before stalking. A chant of “One More Time” beckons a third Claymore! “Holy sh*t” chant as Lesnar’s been totally laid out. Drew is a super face right now, they have a month left to not screw this up.
