There is nothing more ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers would love than for Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) to become the bad guy the show needs.
There was so much potential when the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) was introduced as an equal to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and he proved anything but.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Will Jeremy Stark be the Bad Guy Ashland Locke was Meant To Be?
Ashland was a paper tiger and all of his reveals lacked the punch they should’ve had and they didn’t escalate in shock value. To be fair, had the writers not stretched it out like they did and if Ashland had been presented as more than fodder for everyone in the city to tell off it could’ve worked.
Now we’re seeing the same type of story play out with old characters, and there’s even more potential for things to go sideways for the city’s mainstays.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Setting the stage
We’re all familiar with the Ashland storyline, and in the end the writers gave into the logic that Victor is never outsmarted, outmaneuvered, or out anything. He’s untouchable across the board, and that was a HUGE failing in that storyline.
But now we’ve moved onto the Abbotts, especially Jack who is every bit as seasoned as Victor and has the battle scars to prove it, but he also has a kind and open heart where Victor’s ends with what benefits him.
While both love their families, Victor uses his as pawns while Jack doesn’t, and it’s that kindness and openness that Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) and Jeremy hope to exploit.
And when ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers add in the nearly unparalleled hatred Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) have toward Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) it opens up legitimate danger.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Real danger
Real danger is a thing that seems foreign in Genoa City at times as it’s nearly always elsewhere, but this time it’s in the Abbott’s backdoor.
While Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will go head to head with Jeremy, we’ll get to see just what Jeremy is capable of and how far the writers will push the boundaries.
To be fair, we still think Tucker is the mastermind controlling Jeremy, and that could have plenty of possibilities as well. Assuming our theory is correct.
Tucker and Jeremy are a good one-two punch that’ll make things interesting in Genoa City, but things can still go awry, like Jeremy is arrested after his first attempt to get payback or something similar.
They’re off to a good start, and we hope the writers keep pushing things and don’t drag them out like they did with Ashland.
Did the writers learn from the Ashland storyline, or will they repeat some of their mistakes? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.
