If there is one constant force in WWE, it is some kind of big brute for a hero to vanquish. On Monday Night RAW, currently the only person able to fill that role is Erick Rowan, who has some experience in it. After this past weeks episode of RAW, he has a very personal bone to pick with Drew McIntyre. While Drew is currently a bit occupied with a certain Beast Incarnate, his victory seems a sure thing at Wrestlemania. Could Erick Rowan be his first challenger for the WWE Championship?
Drew McIntyre Killed His Pet
For months now, a major mystery in WWE was contained in a cage that Erick Rowan brought to the ring. It was used like a less effective Damien with Jake The Snake Roberts, it would take opponents minds off Rowan and let him take the upper-hand and dominate them. The mystery pet was revealed when No Way Jose simply asked what was in the cage, and it was a giant spider. Then this week on Monday Night RAW, during a match with McIntyre, it would be crushed by the steel ring steps. This obviously enraged Rowan, but he would still lose the match.
Erick Rowan Has Experience At The Top
Rowan has only had one top level feud in WWE, that leading to a major PPV win over Roman Reigns. This shows that when he is focused, he is capable of performing on the highest level possible within WWE. It also shows that they trust him in a major role with a top star. His powerhouse brawling style is one that is classic, and that gets fans excited due to the promised chaos.
Rowan didn’t have a serious motive when chasing Roman Reigns, just wanting to prove he can perform at that level. With McIntyre giving Rowan a reason to get deadly serious, we could see a whole new version of Rowan very soon. We could even see this bite McIntyre at Wrestlemania, as Rowan could look to find a way to cost him his first shot at the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar. This could easily snowball into a major rivalry over the spring for the RAW brand, with it being a safe bet.
