Ronda Rousey Done With Charlotte Flair In WWE, Wants To Take Over Tag Team Division

When Ronda Rousey was able to defeat former NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Rodriguez on the December 30th, 2022 episode of Smackdown Live? It seemed like she would end the year as WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion. That was until Charlotte Flair would make her shocking return to the company, challenged a weakened Rousey to a title match, and would close out the year by winning her 14th Women’s World Championship in WWE. After this experience, Rousey is stepping away from The Queen for a while, and has a new goal in mind.

Ronda Rousey Is Tired Of Charlotte Flair

During a recent gaming stream, Rousey would be asked when she was getting her championship back. She would respond with the following.

“I don’t know, guys, I’m kind of tired of Charlotte. I’m tired of that title. I already did it, you know? I’m thinking of taking over the tag division.”

Right now, Rousey has a ready partner in Shayna Baszler, with both being among the “Four Horsewomen Of MMA”, which previously included Marina Shafir & Jessamyn Duke. Shafir went to AEW, while Duke retired from in-ring action. However, Rousey & Baszler bring enough aggression to make up for their lack of numbers, and a tag team run from them could truly help to elevate the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Ready To Become A Triple Crown Champion In WWE

Winning those belts would also make Ronda Rousey a Triple Crown Champion in WWE, having previously held the RAW & Smackdown Women’s Championships. There is little doubt that is something WWE would love to be able to say about Rousey, and this would be the time to do it – as fans aren’t clamouring for another Flair vs. Rousey match, and there is no heat left to run a match with Becky Lynch.

Rousey & Shayna even having a brief run with the titles would accomplish this goal, potentially making for a big WrestleMania match. Right now, Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky are the champions in their second reign. Shayna has history in WWE with Kai on the NXT brand, which WWE could play off of in a potential feud.
