When The Elite made their return to All Elite Wrestling at Full Gear 2022 to face Death Triangle in a trios match, they had some new music. They would hit the ring to Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas, a popular classic rock staple that many fans recognized from the opening note. The Elite would continue to use the song for the entirety of the Best Of Seven Match series with Death Triangle – and will continue to use it for future trios matches, as Kansas are loving being introduced to new fans.
Kansas Loves Seeing People Going Nuts To Their Song On AEW TV
The pianist of the Kansas would speak with The Paltrocast to praise the usage of the iconic classic rock song, saying the following about AEW.
“That’s the original that they’re using. Then I saw that video where they’re walking out in the stadium, and all the people are going nuts. Oh my god, that was so cool. That’s just good for the band. That’s good promo and really introducing Kansas, even though the kids might not know who the band is or haven’t heard the song before, it really is initiating young people to that music. So that’s all good. We call that job security.”
The Elite would go on to win the Best Of Seven Series, claiming the AEW World Trios Championships for the second time. It looks like their first defence of the belts will be against AR Fox & Top Flight, following Top Flight defeating The Young Bucks in tag team action. The Elite didn’t get to make a defence after claiming the belts at All Out 2022, due to a suspension following a backstage brawl with CM Punk & Ace Steel.
It’s unclear how long AEW will be using this iconic song for The Elite, but it seems like it could well be a longterm deal. Kansas is enjoying the attention, and The Young Bucks get to hit the ring to the same song they used as backyard wrestlers.
