Bray Wyatt and the Undertaker have a long history together, so it was only fitting that on Raw XXX on January 23, 2023 the torch was officially passed.
The segment continued to build on Wyatt and LA Knight’s feud leading to their match at the Royal Rumble as Knight started it off by mocking Wyatt and then challenging any of the Legends in back to come to the ring.
The Undertaker Passed the Torch to Bray Wyatt
It led to the Undertaker coming out and tossing Knight to Wyatt for a Sister Abigail. Fans were abuzz on social media as we all wondered what the Undertaker whispered to Wyatt afterwards.
Following the show, Wyatt gave a heartfelt message to Taker through social media.
This moment justified a lifetime of sacrifices for me. A lifetime of people treating my uniqueness like it was a disease. Through all the bad times I never changed myself to fit anyone’s narrative. I’m proud of that. Thank you Taker. #SuckItLAKnight pic.twitter.com/nQHYWNq7CL

A moment of genius
The passing of the torch moment was widely praised by fans as a perfect way to do it, and it was the genius of Chris Park, who produced the segment according to PWInsider.
Park is better known as Abyss from TNA/Impact Wrestling and he’s been working with WWE as a producer backstage.
He surprised fans by appearing as AJ Styles’ expert analyst a couple of years ago, but this is a far greater impact for many and it was a moment to remember.
The future
We mentioned above how Wyatt and Undertaker have a long history, and there’s a pretty cool story following their match at WrestleMania 31 in 2015.
It’s been reported that after the Undertaker defeated him, Undertaker told Vince McMahon to take care of Wyatt, but we know how that worked out.
Still, with Wyatt back in the WWE and McMahon leaving WWE Creative in Triple H’s capable hands for the time being, there’s every chance that Wyatt will have the push and impact he didn’t during McMahon’s tenure.
Triple H is good at letting the talent do their thing and it’ll allow Wyatt’s creative genius to flourish, especially with producers like Park that’ll help develop segments like the torch passing.
There may be uncertainties with the future of the WWE with the reports of it being sold and the rumored potential buyers, but for now it’s fun to see Wyatt and others spread their wings and flourish.
