Since Bray Wyatt returned to WWE at Extreme Rules 2022, fans have been wondering when he would return to in-ring action. The intrigue of Uncle Howdy has added layers to his character, but one man who was not afraid of Wyatt or Howdy was LA Knight. This is despite being kidnapped, tormented, and attacked backstage on the build to tonight. Now, Knight gets to prove that whatever Wyatt claims to be, he’s just a human being at the end of the day, and intends to get the win tonight. However, Howdy attacking Wyatt as well and this being dubbed a “Pitch Black” match is enough to put doubt in anyone’s head, with anything able to happen tonight.
LA Knight Had No Chance Against Bray Wyatt
We’d get a weird blacklight look for this match, with Wyatt painted up and Knight wearing Neon Trunks. Wyatt would run him down with a back elbow before throwing him with a suplex. Knight would be sent to the floor by Wyatt, before tossing Wyatt into the steel steps.
Wyatt would send Knight to the crowd, before spilling neon beads all over the floor. The steel steps were set up by the announce table, with Knight able to avoid the suplex. He’d slip back into the crowd for a moment, before jumping up to hit a Side Effect through the table.
Wyatt would be fine after this before being hit with a kendo stick from the top rope – and would not sell this before hitting Sister Abigail for the win. That was the first ever Mountain Dew Pitch Black match, and if it’s the last – fans will be happy about this. After the match, Wyatt would put a mask on – and chase after Knight.
Uncle Howdy Takes Flight As The Firefly Funhouse Crew Watches On
Knight would flee into the crowd with a kendo stick, and Wyatt continued to no sell. Wyatt would follow him onto some boxes before getting the Mandible Claw applied. He’d see Uncle Howdy up above, who would jump off with a Coffin Drop and causing an explosion of sorts. The creatures of the Firefly Funhouse watched the fire, and that was that.
