Kevin Owens has some big issues with The Bloodline. They’ve all but brainwashed his longtime best friend & rival Sami Zayn, who these days is known as the Honorary Uce. One way to get through to Zayn would be to take away the position of power that Reigns has, which means ending his reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion here tonight. This isn’t the first time Owens has challenged Reigns for the belts, it’s not even his first time challenging Reigns for the belts during a Royal Rumble PPV – taking on Reigns in a controversial Last Man Standing match in 2021, which many felt Reigns lost on many occasions. Tonight, Owens has as great a chance as anyone to defeat Reigns – and start his Road to Wrestlemania in a big way.

Roman Reigns Looks To Continue His Epic Championship Reign

Sami Zayn would be in the corner of Reigns alongside Paul Heyman tonight, instructed to be there by Reigns tonight. Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso meanwhile were told to stay in the back. Owens would take a shoulder tackle, and Reigns took a moment to tell Zayn to take notes.

Reigns would be hit with a hard back elbow smash, before stomping Reigns into the corner. Owens would take the fight out to the floor, brawling with Reigns all around the ringside area. Back in the ring, Reigns would hit a chokeslam for a near fall on Owens. Owens would be set up for the Drive By Kick, getting another near fall in the ring.

Reigns would hit the big uppercut on Owens, before some clubbing lariats into the corner. Owens would be unable to get his hands up to defend himself, before coming back with an elbow smash. They’d trade blows in the middle of the ring, with Reigns sent out to the floor before Owens hit a Frog Splash off the apron.

He’d look for a second Frog Splash in the ring, getting a two count in response. Reigns would be able to fire back with a powerbomb, getting another near fall. Superman Punch would be avoided, with Owens hitting a German Suplex. He’d have Reigns in the corner for the Cannonball senton, only to run into the Superman Punch moments later.

Kevin Owens Is Put Through Hell Before He Gets Pinned

Reigns would size up Owens for the spear, only to be sent running into the ring post. Swanton Bomb would follow, and Reigns would just barely be able to kick out. Oweens would avoid a superplex with some headbutts, before slipping off the top rope with the moonsault attempt.

He would try for a second moonsault, with Reigns dodging and hitting a spear – which was not enough to keep Owens down yet. Another spear would be blocked with a knee to the face, before Owens tried for the stunner. Reigns blocked by shoving Owens into the referee, before taking the Pop Up Powerbomb – with Owens getting a visual pinfall.

Reigns would land a low blow on Owens, before asking Zayn to get a steel chair. He’d search for it at ringside, before sliding it into the hands of Reigns. Owens would be able to hit the Stunner, and getting a 2.9 count – Reigns again a millisecond from this reign ending. Pop Up Powerbomb was blocked with a superman punch before a spear for another near fall.

Taking Owens out to the floor, Reigns would hit a spear through the barricade, before he would drive him head first into the ring steps twice. Back in the ring, one more spear would land – and this match was finally over. Roman Reigns remains the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Sami Zayn Finally Chooses His Side

After the match, Jey Uso was ready to officially put Zayn in The Bloodline, but Reigns asked everyone to beat Owens up some more first. The Usos would hit the Day One, before Sikoa hit the running hip attack with a chair around the neck of Owens. Heyman would have some handcuffs, and Owens was handcuffed to the ropes.

The Usos would hit the superkicks, with Zayn having seen enough. He was visibly nervous – and Reigns said this was all because Owens disrespected Zayn. Reigns was ready to end this with a steel chair shot, but Zayn would stop Reigns from hitting the final blow. Zayn tried to say that Reigns was better than this, that the Owens Problem has been solved.

Instead, Reigns would hand the chair to Zayn – telling him to do it instead. Reigns would say that Owens has been an anchor to Zayn, holding him down – while Reigns & The Bloodline are trying to raise him up. Zayn would consider hitting Reigns instead, and started to cry. Reigns would berate Zayn for this, saying that The Bloodline doesn’t cry – doesn’t show weakness.

Zayn would proceed to whack Reigns in the back with the chair – choosing his side. Jimmy Usos would attack for the Tribal Chief – with The Bloodline swarming Zayn in the middle of the ring. Jey would choose to leave the ring instead of getting involved – walking away from The Bloodline.

Reigns would become unglued, beating Zayn down with a steel chair as the crowd chanted “Fuck you Roman” in unison.
