Recently, WWE celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Monday Night RAW. This would see many legends from the past of WWE show up, including The Undertaker & D-Generation X. However, one major name from the early days of Monday Night RAW was missing from the show – that being Kevin Nash, who was best known as Diesel during his run in WWE during the mid-90’s. Nash was offered a spot on the show, but would turn it down.
Kevin Nash Turned Down Raw 30 Offer Because He’s Grieving The Loss Of His Son
A major reason for this would simply be that he is still grieving the death of his son, Tristen Nash – and didn’t want people he didn’t know coming up to him, saying they’re sorry for his loss. Nash would say the following on his Kliq This podcast.
“I don’t know anybody on the crew really anymore or any of the workers or anything else, and I really don’t want people that I don’t know coming up to me saying, ‘I’m sorry to hear about your son.’ I know what the payday is going to be.”
When asked if any pay day would be worth the headache – Nash would respond with the following.
“No. For those people that didn’t get a chance to see me, especially live, I’ll be at the Pensacola Comic-Con the last weekend of February and you can go see me there and I’ll keep you updated on all my personal appearances. Please don’t tell me you’re sorry because I know you’re sorry because nobody would come up and say, ‘I’m really glad to hear your son passed away.”
Nash would also comment that if he was part of the segment with DX & Imperium, he would have headbutted GUNTHER – because he’d want to have something substantial to do on a show like that. There is no way to fault Nash for choosing to pass on RAW 30 – and he will appear on wrestling shows again when ready.
