It appears that “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes believe that his wife Brandi Rhodes could be the equalizer to Paul Heyman in his WrestleMania 39 challenge against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Cody Rhodes Says Paul Heyman Will Want to Be Cautious of the Brandi Rhodes Factor at WrestleMania 39
Rhodes recently sat with the Cheap Heat podcast to discuss a couple of things about his current WWE run. The discussion came to his wife Brandi Rhodes. In February 2022, Brandi left AEW along with Cody after three years with the promotion. The rest is recent history with Cody returning to WWE and being positioned as a legit challenger to WWE’s biggest prize.
Of course, there hasn’t been a similar return to WWE for Brandi. She entered the WWE system through Florida Championship Wrestling in 2011 but requested her release at the end of the year. She returned in 2013 as a ring announcer and backstage interviewer before leaving with Cody Rhodes in 2016.
When Cody’s return was announced, it was expected that Brandi would come along considering how regularly involved she was during the American Nightmare’s post-WWE career.
Now, with a Royal Rumble win under his belt and a shot at Roman Reign’s gold, Cody Rhodes is aware of how pivotal of a role Paul Heyman can play and he has a potential counter.
“If I’m Roman Reigns, I’m not necessarily scared of Brandi Rhodes. If I’m Mr. Heyman [Paul Heyman], I would be scared of what could happen. She’s really enjoying watching this. My whole family, not that they’ve come out of the woodwork, they’ve always been big supporters, but for Mania, because I’ve never been in this situation before, I’ve gotten everything really organized in advance.“ (h/t Fightful)
