He then decided to take legal action against the network for firing him. ABC had appealed to the court to dismiss the case on the grounds that they had already decided to write off the character even before the COVID issue.
Now, the former GH star is saying that ABC fired him because of his political views and their other claims are just for cover-up.
Deadline reports that Ingo’s attorney said that ABC was supposed to accommodate the actor as their duty, but they threw him under the bus after they made him go through a rigged process that was set up to fail.
He also said that all of the network’s claims are just cover ups for the real reason they let go of him – his political views.
The former General Hospital actor also said that the executive producer, Frank Valentini and other cast and crew members were against his support for Donald Trump in the 2020 elections.
Ingo’s filings state that the headhonchos of GH did not like his stance regarding Donald Trump and the restrictive COVID policies. They also claimed that Ingo was fired and his role was recast even though his contract was valid till 2022.
However, according to ABC’s claims, the Director of Employee Relations at Walt Disney Television, Erin Nguyen had asked him about his application for a religious exemption, and he had replied, “There is no religion to join.” So, there were no real religious grounds for granting his request.
