You Might Smell What The Rock Is Cooking but He Ain’t Trying to Smell Your Flowers as Gifts – Chucks Them Right in the Trash
It’s not unusual for actors, athletes, and artists to get gifts when meeting the public and flowers are a common one to give. However, in speaking with Essentially Sports, The Rock mentioned that he throws them in the garbage but not before taking a picture and thanking the sender.
“Straight in the bin, yeah. Well, I look at them, I take the picture, I send them the picture. Hey, thanks for these. These are great and then right in the bin.”
It’s understandable—especially during a public event. Picture Dwayne Johnson showing up at a public event with few things on him. Maybe a watch, some shades, and his smartphone. Perhaps he has some mints just in case but he’s showing up light and probably has an assistant to handle the other plunder.
Then a fan seeing the Great One is empty-handed, unencumbered, and free hands him a bunch of flowers that require care. He didn’t show up with the intent of receiving and having to walk around with flowers but here he is with these flowers. It’s a mild inconvenience
It’s still a gift of sincerity and The Rock definitely appreciates it but flowers aren’t exactly a fruit basket or a meat and cheese deal. With that said, Johnson did admit to keeping Father’s Day flowers from his daughters.
