Over the past decade, one of the most popular professional wrestlers in the world has been Finn Balor. Signed to WWE in 2014, Balor was previously known as Prince Devitt – gaining hype for his involvement in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he formed the BULLET CLUB faction in 2013.
Balor has been someone who has made history everywhere he went, and that is because he values creating buzz over simply winning championships.
Finn Balor Would Rather Create Buzz Than Win More Championships
While speaking with Daniel Cormier for ESPN ahead of WrestleMania 39 – Balor would detail his what he values in professional wrestling. He would rather be involved in creating something new, than simply win championships.
“I don’t want to say that I don’t value championships as much as some people do, but I don’t think they’re the most important thing, to me, anymore. I’ve been very fortunate that I’ve won gold everywhere I’ve went, whether it was in the United Kingdom on the Independents, in Japan, in Mexico, NXT, here I’ve been Universal Champion, US Champion, Intercontinental Champion. When you’re chasing gold, and once you get it, it’s one thing, but now I’m just chasing the buzz or creating something new. That to me, is more valuable than being a champion.”
Potentially Wrestling Bad Bunny At Backlash
Balor has not held a championship in WWE since April 2022, where he had a brief reign as WWE United States Championship. He is set to wrestle WWE Hall Of Famer Edge in Hell in a Cell tonight as part of WrestleMania 39 – the final match in their feud.
Balor is the leader of The Judgement Day faction, which saw Rhea Ripley claim the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship last night from Charlotte Flair.
Another match involving Judgement Day saw Dominik Mysterio wrestle his father, Rey Mysterio. During this match, Bad Bunny would get involved – potentially setting the stage for a match at Backlash in Puerto Rico.
Balor being involved alongside Mysterio & Damien Priest seems obvious – and wrestling Bad Bunny in Puerto Rico would certainly create some serious buzz.
