‘General Hospital’ (GH) Spoilers here and we’re all set to close the week out in style by diving into some fun waters.
Things are going to get interesting the next few episodes, and it’s going to be pretty fun to see play out.
Let’s dive in!
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: In Sonny’s corner
Throughout the entire process of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)’s family pushing him away and finding ways to destroy him, one of the few family members that’s been supportive of Sonny will be surprised by his revelation.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) has remained balanced and tried to soothe things between Sonny and the Spencer side of the family, but they’ve been too busy villainizing and trying to destroy him to care.
The latest step in that direction will come when Sonny says he’s been invited to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tate (Katelynn MacMullen)’s wedding as long as Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) isn’t with him.
Dante will be surprised at the news, but probably more so by Sonny accepting it even at Nina’s insistence. He’ll ask if that’ll damage Sonny and Nina’s relationship, and it’s a great point.
Dante won’t want to see Sonny’s relationship suffer since he’s happy, and the more he’s talked to both sides the more he seems on Sonny’s side.
Since Sonny attempted to kill him for being a cop and infiltrating his business before he knew Dante was his son, it gives Dante an insight the Spencer side should pay attention to and learn from as it parallels Nina and Willows’ past pretty closely.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Cult-like mentality is hard to shake
we’re supposed to forget Willow’s hypocrisy at wanting Michael to forgive Sonny while pretending Nina’s a vile creature that should never see her own family, and all because she’s sick, and Carly’s influence is so great we doubt that’ll happen.
Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) must be proud her protégé learned her lessons so well. Granted, given Willow grew up in cults it’s not surprising she’ll favor and emulate a strong female presence in her life.
While we expect Sonny to be the bigger person and not force the issue, this is one time he should. The wedding is about family, and if Nina’s not welcome at her daughter’s wedding than he’s not at his son’s.
“General Hospital” Spoilers mentioned before how it won’t surprise us if Sonny shows up with Nina anyway.
If Willow really wants to make peace between father and son she needs to lose her own hypocrisy and extend an olive branch.
In no way are we exonerating Nina or Sonny for their decisions, but they’ve accepted the blame and responsibility for their choices a long time ago.
It’s time for the Spencer side of the family to either grow up and accept their part to heal the divide, or continue along their path that will only serve to injure them all the more at some point.
Will the Spencer side finally accept that Sonny came back from Nixon Falls different and stop punishing him for it? Let us know in the comments below and check back with “General Hospital” Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.
