There are certain names who are simply legends in professional wrestling – but two of the biggest are Hulk Hogan & Ric Flair. During the 1980s, Hogan led WWE while Flair was the main man in the National Wrestling Alliance.
They would eventually collide in WWE & WCW in the 90’s, giving fans an ultimate dream match. In 2023, both men have retired from the ring, and are in the conversation of the best of all time – and AEW’s Chris Jericho would put Hogan over Flair.
Chris Jericho Claims Hogan Is Better Worker Than Ric Flair
During a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho, Jericho had the following to say about Hulk Hogan – and how he thinks he’s a better worker than Flair.
I will say to this day and people will bag. Here’s a clickbait. Hogan is a better worker than Flair. For me. I always had amazing matches with Hogan because he knew exactly who he was as a babyface, as a heel, whatever. He was so great. He knew his audience. He didn’t do anything he didn’t have to. It was one of my favorite times in my career.
Here’s another great thing about Hogan. Like you don’t even think about it. But the dude had like a super receding hairline. But no one even really noticed it back then…We all did, but you didn’t. It’s just Hogan, right? Like, it’s weird. He’s like America’s hero with no hair now that would never go, he’d put a toupee on or something.”
Hulk Hogan Worked Smart And Hard
Over his career, Jericho worked nine matches with Hogan, including one for the WWF Undisputed World Heavyweight Title in 2002. Meanwhile, Jericho shared the ring with Flair 37 times. Due to this, Jericho has a solid frame of reference to form his own opinion about who the better worker was.
When it comes to Hogan, he was not someone who was exactly known for his workrate – but that is not what mattered with him. Hogan was a master of giving a crowd exactly what they wanted from him.
When in Japan, he would show a wider moveset – while in America, he could hit his massive spots and taunts and have fans going crazy.
