WWE Speculation – Braun Strowman Should Beat Goldberg at WrestleManina 36 and Become Dominant

This may not be a popular opinion, but Braun Strowman shouldn’t just beat Goldberg at WrestleMania 36, but he should be dominant in doing so and go on to be a dominant champion.

Okay, now I’m sure a few are getting their pitchforks and torches ready ala The Simpsons, but there’s a reason to my madness and it’s shared by many fans.

    There’s no one else

The first is there is doubt as to whether Roman Reigns will return in the next couple of months due to concern over the coronavirus and his weakened immune system because of his leukemia. We can’t blame him for taking precautions until there’s a vaccine or treatment that’ll allow him to feel comfortable enough to risk exposure.

It’s believed, and rightfully so, that Goldberg only became the champion to be the focus of the fans’ ire for beating the Fiend in a squash match. It was to protect Reigns from the same backlash as Vince McMahon has been working hard to make Reigns loved by the fans. That hasn’t been a success judging by the boos and chants of “You both suck!” on Smackdown after Goldberg won the championship and he confronted him.

Unless McMahon allows the Fiend character to redeem himself (which he probably won’t), there’s no one else on the Smackdown roster that can believably challenge Goldberg except for Strowman, hence why many fans think he should’ve been in the match instead of Reigns to begin with.

Strowman, unlike Reigns, is a fan favorite. He always gets a huge pop and he deserves this shot. That being said, Strowman can be an epic force of nature if McMahon would allow him to be one. In my opinion, he dropped the ball big time with the Big Show, as he was more intimidating and dominate as the Giant in WCW than he’d been in WWE at any point. This is McMahon’s chance to correct that mistake.

    Strowman is a monster

Nothing would put Strowman over better, either as a heel or face, than taking Goldberg out in minutes like Goldberg did the Fiend.

He should step into the ring, take Goldberg’s best shots, then unleash his fury on him in the same dominant manner Drew McIntyre has been running on in his build up to face Brock Lesnar.

Speaking of Brock Lesnar, the biggest knock against him is he’s a part timer — he only shows up occasionally.

Well, Goldberg is far more a part timer than him, and never should’ve won the championship.

Once he wins, all of that will be forgotten and Strowman can then begin a dominant run that has him put together an impressive winning streak instead of being toppled by every wrestler that’s half his size.

He should be champion until Reigns returns

We all know Roman Reigns will be champion when he does return. He’s McMahon’s favorite now that his experiment with Rollins has failed, or is on hold until he can figure out how to repair Rollins’ image.

When Reigns returns, they can start a feud that would last until Summer Slam or Survivor Series. Then Reigns can take the belt to the boos of the fans and further cancellations to WWE Network. But McMahon’s boy will have his belt, so everything will be right in the world of the WWE.

Of course, all of this is conjecture and what many of us would like to see happen. That doesn’t mean it will, as Goldberg wouldn’t want to lose in such a manner. Though he doesn’t appear to be happy being booed and Reigns calling him a bitch. Bill Goldberg may be a great person, but he’s not used to dealing with those things in his professional wrestling career.

What are your thoughts? Should the era of the big men and believability return?
