Is the WWE Booking Omos into Obscurity

There are so many ways Omos should be dominating the WWE landscape, yet all he’s been allowed to accomplish since teaming with MVP is squashing local enhancement talent and losing to the talent on the roster.

It’s an odd way to book someone that’s supposed to be so dominate, and it’s not doing Omos any favors.

Is the WWE Booking Omos into Obscurity?

Granted, he’s still learning and growing and he may not be the most polished in the ring yet, but that’s not the problem. The problem is losing three straight matches at premium live events.

While wins and loses don’t really matter in pro wrestling, it does help determine whether someone that’s touted as dominant is or not.

It’s hard as fans to hear MVP tout him as this dominant figure when he continues to lose on the big stages against top talent.

Over the last three PLEs he’s lost to Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, and now Seth Rollins. While he’s gotten better and the matches have been pretty good overall, it’s the perception that’s key.

The internet pissants said Omos vs Stroman would be terrible.
    It wasn't.
The flatscans said Omos would suck against Brock.
    He didn't.
The dimwits said his match with Seth would be trash…
    😏

While you're hating, the man is improving and literally doing BIG things!

    Hitting the snooze button

After his last loss to Rollins at Backlash, fans responded by saying the match sucked and singled out Omos. MVP took them to task on Twitter and we agree with him.

But it feels more like the perception is overriding the reality as we stated above.

Omos doesn’t suck and he’s improving, but he should be built up to be dominate by winning battle royals, handicap matches, and battling other giants like Strowman to double count outs or disqualifications, etc.

Sure, it took Rollins three Stomps to beat him, one off the top rope, but remember when Rollins hit Bray Wyatt with a handful plus of them and still couldn’t beat him?

There’s a logical disconnect that we see when he comes out, and we don’t fear him. We don’t expect him to beat anyone but enhancement talent and he deserves better than that.

Omos has stated that Andre the Giant is his idol, so why not mirror his booking along Andre’s? A gentle giant fighting when he must is more engaging than a constantly irate giant that has no one really to face to make each other look good.

That goes back to WWE’s booking of him and others, for that matter.

We’d love to see him become a powerhouse on the roster than destroys anyone he comes across, but to do that a steady diet of mid carders with the occasional path crossing of a top tier talent heel may be best.

Of course, his losing is probably a storyline arc similar to Austin Theory where he has to lose enough to grow frustrated and break through the barrier holding him back.

We hope that’s the case and Omos isn’t just a time killer while he learns. He has the ability to be so much more and really only needs a handful of moves.

What do you think? Is the WWE booking Omos into obscurity? Let us know in the comments below.
