Since making his WWE debut, Omos has been someone who is steadily improving. Instantly viewed as a potential main event name due to his size alone, Omos had high expectations set ahead of him.
Seeing his development in real time, we’ve seen Omos step up his game in a series of PPV matches – facing former World Champions in Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, and most recently Seth Rollins. His match with Rollins from Backlash has been highly praised – and was the first time they shared the ring.
Omos Praises Seth Rollins, Calls Him An Amazing Performer
While speaking with Mike Jones of DC 101, Omos discussed his recent encounter with Seth Rollins, praising The Architect for being a fantastic opponent.
“Me and Seth, that was our first time ever being in the ring together. We had never been on any house shows together. That was our first time in the ring and having a match, ever. To go out there and do what we did was amazing. I have to give Seth Rollins his props. He’s an amazing performer.”
Following Backlash, there were reports of WWE officials being high on Omos – making this match a potential turning point in his career.
Lacking That One Key Singles Victory On PPV
He was thrown in the deep end with both Lesnar & Rollins, and proved that he has the potential to be a star. Omos more than held his own in these matches – but something is still missing.
The one thing Omos is lacking right now is victories on PPV, with many feeling that his next singles match on PPV needs to see him claim a major victory.
Impressive performances are fine, but professional wrestling is a results driven industry. Omos taking too many losses will ruin the fans perception even with his size.
His biggest wins came earlier in his career when teaming with AJ Styles as the RAW Tag Team Champions, giving no major singles victories.
In the WWE Draft, Omos & manager MVP remained free agents – meaning he can show up on any brand, be that Smackdown, RAW or event NXT. This leaves many matches open for Omos, and many opponents who can take a loss on PPV.
