Since 2020, WWE fans have seen Dominik Mysterio earn his spot in the company. Being the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio gave him an opening to join the company, but in 2023 – few can deny he has earned his spot.
From his debut against Seth Rollins at Summerslam 2020, to winning the Smackdown Tag Team Championships alongside his dad, to facing his dad at WrestleMania 39 – Dominik Mysterio has been proving himself in sink or swim situations. Now, he’s starting to eye singles gold – and GUNTHER is a potential target.
Dominik Mysterio Wants To Bring Gold To Judgement Day
During an interview with G Moniy, Dominik Mysterio would discuss wanting to bring more gold to Judgement Day.
“I would love to hold some titles, whether it’s singles gold or tag team gold. Finn Balor and Damien Priest just beat the Undisputed Tag Team Champions in Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, so there’s definitely a shot there.”
Right now, the only champion in the faction is Rhea Ripley, who defeated Charlotte Flair to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39.
Sneaking The Title Off GUNTHER Is A Possible Plan
When the WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER would be mentioned, Dominik would say that he would love to sneak into a Triple Threat match and end the historic reign.
“I don’t know if I could take him one on one, but if we can get a triple threat match going… somewhere where I can sneak into victory… Maybe. I don’t know. Who knows what the future has in store for ex-con Dom, but we’ll see.”
Right now, GUNTHER is gearing up for his first title defense in Saudi Arabia. You can read his comments on upcoming challenger Mustafa Ali here. During his time in WWE, Dominik Mysterio has never challenged for a singles championship.
