Trish Stratus’ heel turn and promos about not being appreciated for making the women’s division what it is have raise a few eyebrows and opened the door of another Hall of Famer to enter the conversation.
Madusa (Alundra Blayze in the WWE) was the top women’s wrestler in the early to mid 90s, but it arguably best known for dropping the WWE Women’s Championship belt in the trash can live on WCW Nitro.
Since then, Madusa has put in appearances at various cons and shows, and has occasionally tried to get a feud going with one of WWE’s talented women.

But with Stratus wanting thanks for being the trailblazer she is, Madusa came out and said she’s not done yet and ripped into her on social media for establishing the blueprint for twenty years that had to be undone:
“Trish has set the women back and turned them into a sideshow after all the work I did to get the women respected and legitimize them as the superstars that they are.
“Do you really think I literally threw that title in the trash without a plan of longevity and meaning?
“Trish brought in the blueprint that WWE used for decades that had to be UNDONE by the women who were inspired by men and the women that came before her. Trish made room for the Bella Twins and others, but I built a foundation for the 4 Horsewomen.”
Getting feisty
Since then, Trish has maintained her heel turn while being confronted by Becky Lynch for the first of what it expected to be a trilogy of matches at Night of Champions.
According to Madusa on Trash Talk, curtesy of wrestlingnews.co Trish “ghosted” her when she reached out to settle things.
“On the whole Trish thing, I even sent her a DM and I said, ‘Hey, do you want to settle this? Do you? I think you and I need to have an adult conversation. And say maybe let the people know the truth.’
“After I was kind of looking before I sent her her DM. I was looking at some of her matches back then. I mean, she took some good bumps for people and stuff, but I think she was. I mean, thank god she was trained by Fit Finlay, but I think she was only shown a few moves and, because of the time, not on fits, you know, not by any fits fault. But Trish only had a few moves then I think she actually had to look at some women’s wrestling before her, which was me, and she copied a few of my moves.”
While copying moves isn’t anything new, this is getting pretty interesting. It’s obviously a work and Madusa is trying to stake her claim, but we wish Wendi Richter was still wrestling.
She predates both and matched Hulk Hogan in levels of popularity in the 1980s before reportedly being fired for asking for equal pay.
