KUSHIDA on 205 Live is becoming a special treat. He made his debut for the brand a few weeks back, as the fill in for Lio Rush on Team NXT, where he was instrumental in bringing victory to his team. Now he will make his 205 Live singles debut, where he faces one of his partners from that match. That would be the tough as nails UK brawler, Danny Burch. KUSHIDA is on a small win streak between 205 Live and NXT, can Burch end that?
KUSHIDA & Danny Burch Show They Are Equals
This was a first time matchup, so it started with a steady feeling out process. The technical ability of these international superstars were evenly matched, with KUSHIDA being quicker and Burch being stronger. Danny Burch was able to outpower KUSHIDA in the early goings, but that wouldn’t last as KUSHIDA is tricky. Neither man would get a good advantage, with both men taking turns on top as things continued to go to the mat, but neither hitting a big move.
This would change as Burch pulled KUSHIDA out of the sky into a facebuster, putting this match into the next gear. KUSHIDA hit the ropes and flipped to the apron, and Burch charged into an enzuguri. Burch charged again but KUSHIDA side stepped and put him to the outside. KUSHIDA hit the ropes fast, and just as Burch got back to the apron, KUSHIDA responded with a kick sending him to the floor. Throwing his opponent back in the ring, KUSHIDA took to the top rope, but Burch took him out of the sky with a stiff right hand. Burch would lay in some heavy strikes, before grinding KUSHIDA down with a headlock.
KUSHIDA came back with some elbow strikes, and was able to get moving around the ring. Burch fled to the outside, but KUSHIDA dove off the apron onto him. KUSHIDA tried to hit his big right hand, but Burch countered with a quick headbutt for a near fall. The kickout from KUSHIDA was transistioned into a Crossface in the middle of the ring, but KUSHIDA rolled out. They exchanged some heavy strikes, KUSHIDA hit his signature Cartwheel Dropkick, locked in the Hoverboard lock, and Burch had to tap out.
Will Danny Burch Be Abducted Too?
The last two times that KUSHIDA won singles matches, against Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde, they’ve been abducted in the parking lot by masked men.
