Last night at Wrestlemania 36, the match that stole the show from the Performance Center was the triple threat ladder match between Jimmy Uso, Kofi Kingston and John Morrison. The three men were firing on all cylinders, with their creativity shining through in both action and trash talking. While Uso & Kingston impressed, the star of the match was John Morrison, who won the match to keep the Smackdown Tag Titles with The Miz. However, once that reign ends; should Morrison go solo once again?
Miz & Morrison Reunion Has Been Fun
While seeing Morrison go solo is a compelling prospect, it isn’t like Miz & Morrison aren’t just as good as they were back in the days of The Dirt Sheet. They are two men who always brought the best out in each other, and that is true for their recent tag team run as well. With them still being the Smackdown Tag Team Champions, it is unlikely that they will be parting ways anytime soon, but should they stop competing as a tag team, they can stay together. The Miz is still a great wrestler, but he is also the perfect mold for a manager. Him taking John Morrison on as his first client and helping him to the Universal or WWE Championship would be a fantastic story.
John Morrison Proved Himself A Star Outside Of WWE
While once upon a time, WWE hated anything they didn’t create, they have settled down on that in recent years. Proof of this is the success of AJ Styles. Much like Drew McIntyre, Morrison became a star outside of WWE during time away from the company, and while McIntrye has found much success, possibly even becoming WWE Champion; Morrison is finding his route again. After his star performance at Wrestlemania, it is impossible to deny that Morrison is ready for the spotlight, and with the situation in WWE so awkward at the moment, an angle between him and Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship would be fun. Even chasing the Intercontential Championship would be a good start to getting him back on track. The star potential on Morrison is still through the roof, WWE just needs to take advantage of it.
