Former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman has been out injured for a little over a month following a match on the May 1, 2023 episode of RAW. Now there has been another update on his condition and it isn’t good but action is being taken to correct it.
Injured WWE Superstar Braun Strowman Released from Neck Fusion Surgery
He recently underwent neck fusion surgery on his C4 and C5 vertebrae. Neck surgery is often the obvious choice for injuries in athletics. Former WWE Champion Big E avoided the need for surgery for his devastating injury. Both require time away from the ring and their return to action is a toss-up.
In Strowman’s case, it’s unknown how long he’ll need to heal and if he’ll even be able to return to action. It’s not an injury that you’d want to aggravate by returning to the action that resulted in the original injury. If anything, a return after some time away from the ring–an Edge or Bryan Danielson time away–could help.
However, Strowman Is part of this current generation of WWE and for a return a few years later to really have a buzz behind it, bigger impact in WWE will be needed. There’s also news from Strowman that his left leg is 15% paralyzed. Braun told Fightful he has switched shoes to help strengthen his feet.
“The Monster of All Monsters” debuted on main roster debut in 2015 as a part of the Wyatt Family. His singles career started in 2016 and he would go on to win singles and Tag Team gold before being released in 2021. Strowman’s first WWE run seemed brief but that’s down to him not achieving much of note outside of a brief WWE Universal Championship reign.
Braun Strowman wasn’t gone long as after some time in EC3’s Control Your Narrative and a stopover in Ring of Honor, he returned to WWE in 2022. While he was constantly in the mix during his first run–and even presented strongly for most of it–his second run has seen him viewed more favorably as a part of Triple H’s version of WWE television.
