Ever since Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson found major success in Hollywood – WWE fans have always had a minor fear. Professional wrestling requires acting skills, giving a fairly easy pipeline onto the silver screen.
John Cena & Dave Batista would follow suit – finding their own levels of success. When Seth Rollins was spotted on set for an upcoming Marvel blockbuster, there was some worry from fans – but his heart his firmly held by professional wrestling.
Seth Rollins Says He Will Always Be Part Of Wrestling In Some Shape Or Form
During an interview with Mail Sport’s Alex McCarthy, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins would be asked about his future in professional wrestling with his upcoming film debut. Rollins was at his Black & Brave Wrestling school during the interview – and had the following to say.
“As I sit here right now in my wrestling school seeing people fall down behind me, I feel like I’m always going to be part of the industry in some shape or form. You look at The Rock as the example here, and he’s a different beast, right? What you were seeing from John at the time, he was at the peak of his popularity in WWE at the time and it was seeing The Rock come back every year. So, The Rock wasn’t just gone for a hiccup, he was gone for a year and then coming back and taking away an opportunity from someone else who had been there and grinding and all that.”
Rollins won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions 2023, defeating AJ Styles to win the newly introduced championship. He has since defended against Damien Priest, and will face Finn Balor at Money In The Bank.
Plans could change however, as Rollins enters a title defence against two time NXT Champion Bron Breakker tonight. This marks Rollins first match on the NXT brand since his time as NXT Champion ten years ago. Rollins is the favorite to win, though a beatdown from Balor last night on Monday Night RAW has put doubt into the minds of even his most devoted fans.
