In professional wrestling, it’s often hard to know how much longer a particular performer has in their body. It’s a job that takes a heavy toll on the body, and injuries are commonplace as a result.
One man who has tasted the bitter sting of injury is Seth Rollins, who was forced to vacate the top prize in WWE in the past due to an injury. However, he’s climbed back to the top and now as WWE World Heavyweight Champion – Rollins feels he’s truly in the prime of his career.
Seth Rollins Knows He’s Got A Lot Of Years Ahead Of Him In WWE
During his recent interview with Mail Sport’s Alex McCarthy, Rollins would be asked about his future in WWE. Rollins knows his body won’t be able to keep up with the stress of WWE forever – but is still in his prime, and has many years left in his tank.
“As for me, I don’t know where my future lies. I feel, like I said, at this moment wrestling is my future for as long as I can do it at a high level. But there’s going to come a day when falling down is going to turn my bones to dust and I will have to start looking elsewhere and seeing what other options there are. I don’t think that’s coming any time soon and I’m just in the prime of my career right now and there’s a lot of years ahead of me.”
While Rollins is no longer in his athletic prime, having noticeably slowed down after a nasty knee injury – he’s become a more complete performer. His early years in WWE as part of The Shield or as the ace of The Authority still saw a raw edge to his style from his days in Ring of Honor.
Now, Rollins is a master of the more defined WWE style – and is thriving as a result. With rumours of Roman Reigns going to a more part time schedule in the coming years, we could finally see Rollins as the face of the company, a spot which has eluded him for many years.
