It’s finally happened. The biggest crossover fight since Mayweather vs McGregor is coming. Tyson Fury will fight former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in the boxing ring, on Oct. 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ngannou confirmed the fight on Twitter.

In a press release for the event, Tyson Fury was looking forward to the bout. “This guy is supposed to be the hardest puncher in the world, but let’s see how he reacts when he gets hit by big GK.

Fury vs Ngannou Boxing Match Announced For October 28

I’m looking forward to showing that the Gypsy King is the greatest fighter of his generation. It’s gonna be a fight for the ages.”

Rumors abounded recently that the fight would be a disappointing exhibition match with no knockouts allowed. Considering that Francis Ngannou’s brand is built around his world-record-holding punching power, that would be a serious blow to fight fans.

Fortunately, Queensberry chairman Frank Warren revealed that the fight is not an exhibition bout. Francis Ngannou has been chasing a massive boxing payday since he was fighting for the UFC.

In fact, Ngannou left the UFC over contract issues, where the organization refused to allow the Cameroonian fighter to enter the squared circle.

Ngannou left the UFC in search of better pay and working conditions. Earlier this year, he signed a landmark deal with the PFL. Now, according to Marquel Martin, a representative for Ngannou, “The Predator” is all set to make a life-changing amount of money.

“Let’s just say this: The bag is so big, he may actually just drop it on the way to the bank. Let’s just say that. I don’t know what the haters are trying to say right now, I kind of just blocked it out, but they’ll just be proven wrong again. This is life-changing. This is exactly what we planned and visualized, so we’re happy.”

Although at present Tyson Fury’s WBC titles will not be on the line, Martin revealed that they are seeking WBC endorsement.

“We are not signing up to do some, like, go out there and play patty-cake. No, no, no, this is an actual fight. What happens with the WBC belt, we plan on talking with the WBC to get licensed. That’s our plan. And we never know, we may have the opportunity to maybe put his [belt] on the line.

I don’t know, that’s for his side. But I know that, from our side, we plan on hopefully having those conversations and making sure that we do everything in our power to — we want this to go on on [Fury’s professional] record.”

But again. I’ll set the record straight. This is a real fight.”
