The beef between Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake was reignited a few years after they reconciled. The reconciliation came just prior to Beefcake being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Hogan.
However, the root of this beef was unknown until this week when the Hulkster sat down with Theo Von to discuss his career and friends in the industry.
Hulk Hogan Reveals That the Wife of Brutus Beefcake is the Root of Their Issues
When the discussion got to his friends in wrestling, Brutus Beefcake was obviously going to come up. Besides Jimmy Hart, the Barber is one of Hogan’s career-long close confidants and began his career with and supposedly trained by the future World champion.
In the interview, Hogan really laid out their friendship of 40 years, what it meant to him, and how he never figured a disagreement over a woman would wreck it.
While he didn’t get into the specifics of what actually occurred between them, he said that Beefcake’s wife Missy was the cause of it.
“And then another one of the guys that I traveled with for 40 years on the road, Brutus Beefcake, him and I had a falling out…We had a little bit of a falling out so we don’t even talk anymore, you know. I mean, there’s nothing to talk about. It’s gotta lot to do with the lady he’s married to. Nothing really to do with him. So, I’ll pass.”
So, it appears that Beefcake himself isn’t the problem for the most part. Also worth noting from this is that Hogan appears to be done with Brutus. In late July 2023, Missy—Beefcake’s wife—attempted to get the two to settle their disagreement.
If we are to believe Hulk’s side, this might actually be a hard friendship to mend. Time tends to heal all wounds but with wrestlers from their era passing each year—sometimes a couple—who knows if they will talk it out.
However, Hulk is 67 while Brutus is 66 and they’re not guaranteed Bruno and Flair longevity. Let’s say they make it into their 70s and 80s, at that point would there be a reason to apologize or accept an apology?
